2 Sheriff Hall Cottages, Sheriff Hall

1 Sheriff Hall Cottages, located in Sheriff Hall, is an earlier 19th century single-storey row of farm cottages that has been altered and extended later in the century. The building is constructed of random purple rubble, roughly pointed, with cream droved sandstone dressings. Originally consisting of six cottages, it has been reduced to four.

On the southeast elevation, there is a group of four symmetrical cottages at the center and left, with a door to the right of center that is now blocked. To the right, there are two additional cottages that have been raised by a rubble course to create an attic, featuring two flat-roofed dormers. The doorways of these cottages have been blocked, and there is a 20th-century harled, recessed addition on the outer right that includes a door and a window.

The northeast elevation displays irregular openings, with brick pentice roofs and cat slide projections added. The windows feature lying-pane glazing and smaller windows with four panes; they are sash and case. The roof is piended slate, with ridge stacks.
