Description
4 Mountjoy Terrace in Musselburgh is a row of five terrace houses built in 1888. Each house is two storeys high and two bays wide, set behind dwarf walled front gardens. Houses 3 and 4, as well as 5 and 6, are paired together, featuring a central chimney stack with an eaves cornice. Each pair has two first-floor windows and two doors below, with two small windows in between, all flanked by two-storey, three-light canted bay windows. The buildings are constructed from coursed red rubble with ashlar dressings. The cornice of the bay windows connects with a first-floor band course, and there is a string course at the cills of the first-floor windows, along with a cornice that has a blocking course and brattishing. House 6 has toothed ends and features flat roofs and single-pane sash windows.
