Description
This building, known as Kingston House, dates back to 1848 and features a square plan steading with a longer range attached to the north. It is constructed from random rubble with dressed ashlar detailing.
The south range has a depressed arched carriage entrance located in a raised gabled ashlar bay at the center, which has chamfered edges. Above the entrance is a date panel and a decorative weather vane. The walls on either side are long and blank, while the outer bays are advanced and gabled, standing two stories tall. There is a forestair leading to the outer right bay and a decorative can on the gable-head stack. A modern grain chute has been added to the outer left gable.
The east range features cartshed openings at the ground level that have been partly altered. Above these, there is a hayloft with a gabled loft door at the center and four windows under the eaves on either side.
The west range has a modern grain shed added to the right side.
To the left, there is a piend-roofed double-height engine house that is advanced, along with a gabled single-storey addition at the ground level. A circular brick stalk sits on a tall pedestal at the north end.
The north range contains three cattle courts that are divided by gabled projections and enclosed by rubble walls, which have square pyramid-capped gatepiers. There are also two cattle courts located behind the south range. The roofs of the south, east, and west ranges are slate, with some sections covered in pantiles. The north range has pantile roofs and features two timber ventilators on the sides of the east cattle court.
