Description
The dovecot at Waughton Castle is a 16th century beehive structure that has fallen into neglect. It is constructed from random whinstone rubble and stands approximately 20 feet tall, featuring large round stones at the base and flatter slabs at the top. There are two rat courses and an eaves course. The entrance is located on the northwest side and has a damaged lintel. Inside, there are 700 stone nests, but the roof is missing.
