Longniddry Farm Cottages No. 4 is a terrace of four single-storey farm cottages built in the later 19th century, arranged in a shallow U-plan with advanced end bays. The cottages are constructed from squared and snecked red sandstone, featuring ashlar dressings and chamfered reveals with stone mullions for the bipartite windows. Each end cottage has a gabled porch located in the re-entrant angle, with a window on the front and a door on the inner return, along with a bipartite window at the advanced gable end. The two central cottages each have a gabled porch and irregularly spaced, altered windows on either side, with a single box dormer in each attic. There are lean-to additions at the rear of the cottages. The windows are sash and case, displaying a variety of glazing patterns, with four-pane windows being the most common. The cottages feature overhanging eaves, grey slate roofs, and coped ashlar stacks.
