Description
East Lodge at Elvingston dates from around 1800 and is a single-storey structure with curved end elevations. It is built of random rubble, featuring contrasting sandstone ashlar dressings and stone mullions. The south side has a door with a 5-pane strip fanlight. The west elevation includes two bipartite windows, while the east elevation has a single window that is also bowed. There is a modern harled addition at the rear. The lodge has sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern in the bipartites, though some of the glazing is modern. The roof is covered with grey slates and has a curved shape, topped by a corniced ashlar central stack. The entrance is marked by heavily pointed sandstone gatepiers.
