24 Mill Street, Catrine

The Red Lion Inn, located at 20 Mill Street in Catrine, is an early 19th-century building that originally consisted of a pair of symmetrical two-storey, six-bay houses. The structure is made of coursed sandstone with polished dressings; the west side is painted while the east side is harled. It features quoin strips, a base course, and an eaves course, with the first-floor windows positioned just under the eaves. The fenestration is regular, although the window on the far right at ground level has been enlarged.

On the west side, there is a large slate-hung box dormer, while the east side has a pair of piended slate-hung dormers. The building has broad blank gabled returns with wallhead stacks and was formerly part of a terrace. The ground floor has plate glass windows with grilles, while the east side features timber sash and case four-pane windows, and the west side has modern plate glass windows. The roof is covered with grey slates and has ashlar coped skews and harled apex stacks.
