229 Perth Road, Dundee

227 Perth Road in Dundee is a symmetrical tenement building from 1877, featuring four storeys and an attic. The front is made of ashlar stone and has a channelled ground floor with pilaster strips, slightly stepped in slope.

Each tenement has a central doorpiece designed in the Thomsonesque style, complete with a pediment and incised Grecian ornament, along with antefixae. The doors are flanked by single lights, with bipartite windows above and canted end bays. The upper windows have colonette mullions, and there are band courses at the impost level, segmental heads at the second floor, eaves band courses at the third, and a cornice. The roof is slate, featuring canted dormers over the end bays and one later dormer. Some windows have been altered; originally, they were sash and case with a 2- and 4-pane glazing pattern.

The property is also marked by square-section gatepiers adorned with Thomsonesque Greek ornament, along with low rubble-built walls.
