50, 52 Albert Street, Dundee

50 and 52 Albert Street in Dundee is a four-storey, seven-bay tenement building designed by Alexander Johnston in 1895. It serves as a key part of a larger model tenement development. The structure is built from squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings. The ground floor features shopfronts supported by slim pseudo-Ionic pilasters. The upper floor windows are margined, with cornices on the first floor and continuous cill courses on the second and third floors.

The elevation facing the street has a broad four-bay curve, with the outer bays being bipartite. At the center, there is a crow-stepped gable that includes a hoodmoulded attic light and a ball finial, flanked by swept-roofed, lead-capped bartizans. Canted oriels project onto Albert Street and Arthurstone Terrace, rising from the first and third floors and topped with conical turrets. To the right of the oriel at Arthurstone Terrace, there is a single bipartite bay. A wallhead stack is located to the right of the oriel at Albert Street.

The roof is slate with wrought-iron finials on the turrets and features ridge stacks. The windows are sash and case with a two-pane glazing pattern.
