50 Annan Road, Gretna

50 Annan Road in Gretna is a two-storey, three-bay shop with a flat above, designed by Raymond Unwin and C M Crickmer between 1916 and 1917. The building has a square plan and features a distinctive bellcast roof. It is located at a main crossroads and is constructed from red brick, with the upper storey painted. The eaves overhang slightly, and the ground floor has slightly recessed round-arched window openings, which are outlined with simple decorative key-stoned brickwork and raised cills.

The interior, which was partly seen in 2011, has been modernized for shop use. The upper floor predominantly features timber sash and case windows with an 8-pane and 12-pane glazing pattern, along with some smaller timber casement windows. The ground floor includes small pane and plate glass fixed timber windows. The roof is piended and bell-cast, covered with grey slates and red ridge tiles. The building also has cast-iron rainwater goods and a single corniced wallhead stack.
