Description

The Johnstone Burial Ground in Dryfe is a triangular-plan burial site featuring ashlar-coped walls and decorative cast-iron railings on the west side, with a stepped slope on the south side. The burial ground is otherwise surrounded by a steep slope. It contains full-height, large, shallow advanced wings that serve as stone monuments to the Johnstone family and their employees. There are also cast-iron gates located at the south entrance. The burial ground dates from the 18th and 19th centuries, with some mid-20th century elements.
