North Courtyard Entrance Range, Farmsteading, Nether Gribton

The North Range at Nether Gribton is an earlier 19th-century farmhouse that is two stories high and has three bays, accompanied by a steading to the north and a cottage to the east. The structure is built from rubble with ashlar dressings, and the house is whitewashed.

The farmhouse features a central, later-added gabled porch on the south elevation, four-pane sash windows, an eaves and lintel band, and a piended roof with two symmetrical ridge stacks. The steading is a single-story building with lofts and has several roof levels. It consists of four ranges built around a quadrangular courtyard, which is accessed from the east, incorporating the farmhouse in the southeast corner. There is an additional long range to the east, separated by a driveway. Both this long range and the courtyard's east range have segmental-arched cartways and lofts. The freestanding range includes a tall segmentally-arched barn door and square loft openings in the taller northern section. The elevations facing the courtyard are plain.

The cottage is a single-story building that mirrors the farmhouse with identical three-bay north and south elevations, featuring a central door and sash windows in the outer bays, retaining a 12-pane glazing pattern on the north side. It is also whitewashed rubble with painted margins, has straight skews, and end stacks. Most of the roofs on the property are covered with graded slates.
