Description
Allangibbon Bridge is a stone bridge built in the mid to late 19th century, spanning the Water of Ken at the Kells and Dalry border. It features four central narrow round arches, flanked by wider depressed arches, with a 72-foot span to the west and a 54-foot span to the east. The bridge is constructed of granite, showcasing polished voussoirs and soffits, while the rest is made of bull-faced masonry. Polished banded pilasters extend from the springing point to a coped banded parapet, which has a raised band at its base. The bridge includes a wide carriageway with splayed abutments.
