Description

Blackaddie Bridge is a road bridge built in 1855 by masons Murdoch and Weir. It features three segmental arches that span the River Nith. The bridge is constructed from stugged grey ashlar, with piers and cutwaters, as well as outer pilaster strips, abutments, and the outer face of the parapet all finished in a bullfaced style. The voussoirs are channelled, and there is a band course located below the parapets, which are slightly splayed at the approaches. The roadway is straight and horizontal.
