Description

This building at 96 George Street in Whithorn dates from around 1800 and consists of a pair of two-storey, three-bay terraced houses. The structure is made of coursed rubble with painted raised margins and features long and short quoins. The doorways are located in the outer bays and have recessed doors with fanlights, although both doors are modern. The window at No 96 is a single light, sash and case with plate glass glazing, while the windows at No 98 are modern uPVC. There is a raised eaves band along the top.

The houses have steeply pitched roofs covered with graded slate, along with sandstone skews and ridges, and kneeler skewputts. Corniced axial stacks are present on the roofs.
