Description
Carronfoot in Carronbridge Village is a building dated 1829. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, appearing as two storeys at the rear, and features three bays set above a steep slope, with a basement and sub-basement at the north side. The north elevation is made of pink stugged ashlar, while the remainder is built from rubble. The inner bay is slightly advanced and has a pediment, with an off-centre square porch that includes block pediments and a shouldered door on the side elevation. Above this, there is a tall, round-headed window set within a steep wall-head pediment. An asymmetrically placed engaged octagonal flue rises alongside the building, made of red ashlar, with pedimented wall-head dormers added to the outer bays in the late 19th century. The building has straight skews, corniced end stacks, and a roof covered with graded slates. An additional porch is attached to the east gable at the basement level, while the south elevation features three irregular bays with dormers.
