Description

The outbuildings of the Queen's Arms Hotel, located at 1 High Street in Garlieston, date from the earlier 19th century and consist of a two-storey, three-bay inn. The inn features a central door with a letterbox fanlight. The front and rear walls are rendered, with smooth rusticated quoins, a raised painted basecourse, and margins, while the sides are constructed of rubble. There are two gabled single-storey linked projections at the rear. The windows are all single, sash and case style with 12-pane glazing. The building has a moulded eaves cornice, slate roofs, and rusticated end stacks, along with two canted piended dormers. A door is located in the left gable return, and there is a modern single-storey flat-roofed extension to the right.

At the rear, there is a two-storey gabled former stable, which is painted rubble. This outbuilding has a door in the gable end facing the hotel, with a hayloft door above it on the first floor. There is a small window under the eaves on the long left return, and the right return has three widely spaced bays with regular openings. A stack is present at the far gable.
