Description

3 and 5 Glasgow Street in Dumfries is an earlier 19th century, two-storey corner building that features shops on the ground floor. The façade has three bays facing Glasgow Street, two bays on the splayed corner, and a single bay on Galloway Street. The building is constructed of painted ashlar and has earlier to mid-19th century shop fronts with plain pilasters that support a fascia and entablature. There is a cill string course on the first floor, along with a cornice and blocking course. The building has a single wall-head and two end stacks, topped with a piended slate roof. The windows have been reglazed with single-pane sashes.
