Description
This building, located at 88-90 High Street in Dumfries, dates from around 1800 and is a three-storey corner tenement featuring shops on the ground floor. It has three bays facing English Street and one wide bay at the canted angle, along with eight bays along High Street. The exterior is finished in painted droved ashlar and has a simple modillioned cornice. The corner and window margins along High Street are raised. There is a plain first-floor Venetian window at the canted angle, which includes blind side lights and a tympanum. The shop fronts are modern, while the windows above are mostly sash windows. The building has end stacks and a piended slate roof.
