Description

Moncrieff United Free Church of Scotland, built in 1850 by John Melvin, features a rectangular plan and a broad neo-Tudor gabled ashlar front. The design includes a "nave and aisles" division, highlighted by a fine four-centre arched doorpiece with cast iron balustraded steps. Above the entrance is a traceried window, with lancet windows in the outer bays. The church is topped with a crenellated parapet and has buttresses adorned with sculptured pinnacles. The flanks are plain and stuccoed, with a two-storey, three-window arrangement featuring four-centre arched heads. A small stuccoed apse is present on the north gable.
