Description
The bridge over the Black Devon in Clackmannan was built in 1878 and features a single span constructed of wrought iron transverse and longitudinal girders. It has square-profile cast iron baluster panels that display a diamond pattern at both the top and bottom. The terminals are marked by moulded octagonal cast iron pillars. The bridge's squat, square sandstone terminals have chamfered capstones, although the capstone is missing on the southwest corner, and there are cart stones present. The abutments are made of rock-faced sandstone ashlar, while the wing walls are constructed of squared rubble topped with semicircular capstones.
