Description
The Russell Road Railway Bridge, built in 1842 by the Caledonian Railway under Chief Engineer John Miller, is a three-arch viaduct featuring battered piers. It is constructed from coursed bull-nosed sandstone and includes a band course at the springing level. The arches are framed by a channelled ashlar arch ring, and there is an ashlar coped parapet above the band course. To the west, there is a high sloping retaining wing wall, while a low retaining wall to the east abuts the inner pier.
