21 and 23 Causewayside, Edinburgh

25 Causewayside in Edinburgh is a late 18th century, three-storey and attic, five-bay symmetrical tenement that features shops on the ground floor. The upper floors are covered in 20th century pebble dash, and there is a cornice above the shopfronts.

The west elevation has a central doorway leading into the tenement. To the left, there are two shops with small-pane glazing, and to the right is a public house (25-27 Causewayside) that has panelled pilasters between the openings. The first and second floors above have regular fenestration, and there is a central three-bay nepus gable. Flanking the gable are piend roof dormers.

The building has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate pitched roof, and a coped stack on the nepus gable, along with coped mutual stacks and moulded cans.
