9, 11, 13 West Register Street, Edinburgh

5 and 7 West Register Street in Edinburgh is a late 18th century building that has seen various additions and alterations over the years. It is a three-storey corner block that includes early mews buildings. The ground floor features shops, while the first floor houses a public bar. The later third storey serves as a function room for the adjoining Cafe Royal, which is listed separately.

The west elevation has an irregular five-bay layout. On the ground floor, there is a café to the left, access to the first floor in the center, and a shop window to the right. The first floor has moulded ashlar architraves, and there is a raised wallhead at the second floor.

The south elevation is irregular with six bays. It has two shops on the ground floor, while the second floor is mostly blank, featuring just one window to the right.

The building has timber sash and case windows with four panes and plate glass. It has a piended roof covered with grey slates and a truncated wallhead stack.

The interior has been significantly altered, with the second floor dedicated to the Cafe Royal function room, which is also listed separately.
