Description
80 Hanover Street in Edinburgh is a four-storey, twelve-bay classical office building designed by Covell Matthews Partnership in 1975. It features droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. The ground floor has pilasters, and there is an eaves cornice and blocking course. The structure consists of three distinct four-bay blocks, with a pair of identical blocks to the south at the same level, which have a cill course on the shorter third floor and rooflights. The northern block is also at the same level but is a storey lower, featuring four piend-roofed dormers that continue the third storey of the adjoining blocks.
The windows are timber sash and case with twelve panes. The building has ashlar coped skews, droved ashlar stacks, and grey slate roofing.
Inside, there are modern office interiors that interconnect with the blocks to the north and south.
