Description
75, 77, and 79 Lothian Road in Edinburgh is a four-storey, five-bay plain classical terraced tenement designed by David McGibbon in 1863. The building is constructed of coursed ashlar and features later shops on the ground floor. It has a stepped continuous cornice above the shops, a cill course at the third floor level, and a moulded eaves cornice.
The windows on the first and second floors are set in lugged and bracketed surrounds, while the outer bays have bipartite windows. The building includes plate glass in timber sash and case windows. Additionally, there is a shouldered wallhead stack with circular cans and corniced ridge stacks also with circular cans.
