Description
Burdiehouse Mains is a farmhouse built around 1830, featuring two stories and three bays with classical details. The structure is made of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. It has a gabled porch on a shallow advanced inner bay, a band course between the floors, and sash windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The building includes a cornice, a blocking course, end stacks, and a slate roof. There is a low rear wing.
To the rear, there is a courtyard steading that is not all from the same period. It is symmetrically arranged in a U-plan block, with part of it believed to have once been a lace factory.
