Description
Stock Bridge, located on Deanhaugh Street in Edinburgh, was built in 1786 and widened between 1900 and 1901 by David C. Proudfoot. The bridge features a single segmental arch made of ashlar voussoirs, with ashlar parapets that have partial crenellation. The voussoirs curve at the northeast abutment, and the city arms are displayed on the eastern face. The spandrel and retaining wall are made of snecked rubble. Additionally, there are three corbelled and spired circular piers with railings on Hamilton Place.
