Description

Jaw Bridge is a single span bridge on the Union Canal, designed by engineer Hugh Baird around 1820. It features a segmental arch made of coursed, squared rubble, with stugged sandstone voussoirs. The exposed keystone has the number '13' inscribed on it. There is an ashlar string course, plain railings over the bridge itself, and a coped parapet wall along the banks.
