Description

Early 19th century; later rear wings; renovated 1980s. Single storey range of 9 cottages. Raised cills. Square and snecked rubble sandstone; droved dressings; harled rear wings.

1& 2 ECHLINE COTTAGES

S (PRINCIPLE) ELEVATION: timber doors in outer bays with adjacent single window. Slightly higher than adjoining range.

W ELEVATION: blind gable.

N ELEVATION: mutual wing; 2-bay gable; 2-bay flanks.

3-8 ECHLINE COTTAGES

S (PRINCIPLE) ELEVATION: 3 / 4, 5 / 6, 7 / 8 paired. Each pair 4-bay; central timber doors; flanking windows.

N ELEVATION: 3 mutual wings (shared with No 9); 2-bay gable; flat-roofed links.

9 ECHLINE COTTAGES

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATIONS: door in right bay; single window in left bay.

E ELEVATION: blind .

Modern glazing. Pantiled roof; straight skews; low stacks at each gable head and between paired cottages.

BOUNDARY WALL: rubble wall with wooden latch gates accessing street.
