Description
7, 8, and 9 South Bridge in Edinburgh is a Classical tenement building dating from around 1790. It stands three stories high with an attic and features seven bays. The front is constructed of ashlar stone, while the rear is made of rubble. Notable architectural details include a cill course, raised cills on the second-story windows, and a dentilled entablature. There are five dormers with pediments added later.
The windows are predominantly timber sash and case with plate glass, while the ground floor has plate glass windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped gable stacks. The building also provides access to vaults located below street level.
