Description

J Hannay Thompson (General Superintendent Engineer for Granton Harbour Co) with Yorkshire Hennebique Co, 1936. Leading light. Reinforced concrete pillar surmounted by lantern cupola with latticed glazing in steel framework with conical roof; circular cantilevered platform with railings to base of cupola; entry via attached ladder. Door at base of pillar (for access to electrical equipment) under small cantilevered canopy.
