Description
The Burgh Cross in Canongate, Edinburgh, was restored in 1888. It features an octagonal shape with a tall, narrow shaft that likely dates back to the 16th century. The base and podium are later additions, also in an octagonal design. The capital and cross head were added during the 1888 restoration. There is a cast-iron plaque facing Canongate that displays a stags head emblem.
