Including Boundary Walls, Former Dean Cemetery Gate Lodge, 69 Dean Path

The former Dean Cemetery Gate Lodge, designed by James Jerdan in 1877, is a single-storey building with a roughly rectangular plan. It features a prominent hipped roof and a corniced ridge stack. The exterior is made of coursed squared rubble, with some sandstone ashlar quoins and surrounds. The windows are arranged in a roughly regular pattern, including some bipartite windows on the south side, along with later rooflights.

The lodge predominantly has 9-pane timber sash and case windows. The hipped roof is covered with grey slates, and the corniced sandstone ashlar ridge stack has modern clay cans. The building also has cast-iron rainwater goods.

The boundary walls are constructed from coursed and squared sandstone rubble topped with sandstone ashlar copes. There are cast-iron gates for both vehicle and pedestrian entrances.
