Description

Later to late 19th century with possible earlier fabric. Single storey, symmetrical, 5-bay public house with rare and distinctive Classical timber frontage and decorative central wallhead panel. Cill course, cornice, fascia with moulded timber lettering, balustraded parapet with ball finials to outer corners. Panelled timber stallrisers and transom lights. Panelled Ionic-style pilasters and decorative mullions separate bays. 6-panel timber entrance doors to outer bays. Large, central decorative consoled wallhead panel with segmental-arched pediment and fluted pilasters. Moulded horse figurehead and lettering 'ESTABLISHED 1834 TRADEMARK'.

INTERIOR: (seen 2007). Late 1950s internal decorative scheme mostly extant. Two rooms with decorative cornice plasterwork. Suspended timber beams over bar counter. Small hatch bar. Some Victorian decorative etched glass.
