Description
Asknish House is a Georgian building from the later 18th century, featuring three storeys. It is constructed of coursed rubble and has a piended roof with a flat deck. The façade is distinguished by giant pilasters with rusticated plinths and a cornice. A projecting central pavilion includes a round-headed niche flanked by windows on the second floor, a fluted Ionic Palladian window on the first floor, and a classical doorway with Doric pilasters, an entablature, and a pediment. At the rear, there is a gabled pavilion, along with a lean-to that has crow-steps and crenellation. The design is complemented by curved flanking walls topped with ball-finials.
