Description

The East Tower at Islay House is an early 19th-century folly. It is octagonal in shape and features coursed stone with decorative banding. The tower has a corbelled crenellated parapet and unglazed slit windows. A string course runs around the structure, and there is a decorative doorhead with two shields that bear monograms. Inside, the tower has a circular layout with a domed ceiling beneath a platform roof. It formerly contained a turnpike stair.
