Description

100, Easdale Island is a terrace of improved cottages from the earlier 19th century, consisting of a single storey and an irregular 15-bay rectangular plan, originally five cottages but now three. The exterior is constructed from harled whinstone and slate rubble, featuring generally regular fenestration. The roof is covered with grey slates, has lead flashing, and includes coped stacks with clay cans.

No. 8 consists of two cottages that have merged into one. The southeast (principal) elevation has a three-bay layout with a boarded door at the center. The northwest (rear) elevation also has a three-bay layout with a boarded door at the center, while the southwest (side) elevation features a blind gable end. The windows are four-pane timber sash and case, and there is a gable stack on the mutual gable. The roof is an M-gable style. The interior includes a public bar with modern timber fittings.

No. 100 has a southeast (principal) elevation with a four-bay layout, featuring a door at the center, a small window to the left, and paired later windows to the right. The northwest (rear) elevation abuts No. 7 and has fixed small-pane and hopper windows along with a boarded door. The wallhead, gables, and roof have been rebuilt, and there are no stacks. The interior was not seen in 2001.

No. 6 has a southeast (principal) elevation that is eight bays wide, formerly two cottages, with irregular fenestration and modern doors in bays three and seven. The northwest (rear) elevation features two advanced bays with a piended roof to the left and a lean-to addition across the rear of the former cottage in the center, abutting the Drill Hall to the right. The northeast (side) elevation shows a harled gable end. This section has modern plate glass windows, modern rooflights, and stacks on the northeast gable and the former mutual gable at the center. The interior was not seen in 2001.
