Description
26 Castle Street in Forfar is a three-storey building designed by T.R. Souter in 1909. It features a well-preserved original shopfront with rounded angles, a central bay window that displays superimposed orders, and a gablet above topped with ball finials. At the back of the building, there is an older section that includes a hydraulic goods lift, which was installed in 1896. The building has been re-categorised as C(S) from B for group interest in 2006, indicating its significance as part of a larger architectural context. The listing applies to both the interior and exterior of the building, as is appropriate for its type.
