Description
South Lodge, dating to the 1850s and built before the main Woodside House, is a single-story building in an L-shape. It features a projecting canted bay on the left side, an entrance porch set into the re-entrant angle, and a single window bay on the right. The lodge is constructed of grey stugged and snecked ashlar, with a slated roof featuring overhanging timber brackets beneath the eaves. A corniced ridge stack is positioned over the centre of the roof. Modern replacement windows have been installed. The property retains squat, square gate piers made of ashlar, each with a deep cornice and small pyramidal masonry caps. Low curved screen walls, also of stugged and snecked ashlar with an ashlar coping, run alongside.
