Description

Kinnaird Castle is a large three-storey mansion house with a square plan and an open court, built in 1790 by architect James Playfair. It was later remodelled in the French Baronial style between 1854 and 1862 by architect David Bryce. The west front features a central turretted tower flanked by square towers, while the north front includes a columned porte-cochere. Inside the south wing, there are remains of a tower house that dates back to the 15th century.
