Description

The County Assessor's Office, located at 50 East High Street in Forfar, was built in 1826. This classical building features three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a two-window ashlar facade facing High Street. The basement has hammer-dressing similar to that of the Town and County Hall. The ground floor is rusticated, while the first floor showcases architraves and cornices. The property retains its original area railings, which include a fine original lamp-holder. The broad gable is constructed of coursed rubble and includes a double doorpiece.
