Description

4 Fountain Square in Auchmithie is a single-storey cottage complex built in 1890, arranged in a U-plan around a courtyard. The cottages are constructed from squared and snecked red sandstone rubble, topped with slate roofs that feature masonry ridges and gable and ridge stacks. The gables and stacks are coped, and there are moulded skewputts. A distinctive feature is the gabletted entrance at the center, which includes a doocot ledge with a row of five flight holes. The glazing has been altered.
