Description
The South Esk Bridge at Stannochy is a large bridge built in 1825, featuring a single segmental arch made of squared rubble. The arch is adorned with dressed voussoirs that are alternately raised in a hood-mould design. The bridge has a roadway measuring 14 feet wide, with approaches that widen out. The architectural details suggest that it may have been designed by Robert Stevenson. The span of the bridge exceeds 100 feet.
