Description
This 18th century cottage, likely incorporating earlier elements, is a single-storey building with a piend roof that has been raised to two storeys at the north end. The exterior is finished in whitewashed rubble and harl, with painted margins.
On the northeast elevation, there are two windows grouped toward the center, along with a rounded angle to the left and a two-storey bay with a mansard roof on the outer right. The southwest elevation features a modern door at the center, flanked by modern windows in the bays, and a porch to the outer right under the piend roof. The altered bay on the outer left also has a mansard roof.
The northeast elevation has small-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, while the other elevations feature modern glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped harled ridge stacks with cans.
Additionally, there is a fine rubble outbuilding with an Angus stone slate roof. This structure has two full-height square-headed arches with a central pier on the northeast side and a small opening in the gablehead to the northwest. Inside the southwest gable, there is evidence of stone and turf construction, and the floor is made of flagstones.
