Description
Saint Palladius’s Episcopal Church is an ornate early Gothic church designed by Arthur Clyne of Pirie & Clyne and built in 1885. The building comprises an aisleless nave, a south-west porch, a south transept, a north vestry, and a semi-circular, aisleless apsidal chancel. A circular stair is located in the south-east angle of the chancel and transept, rising into a pencil towerlet with a dwarf peristyle at the belfry stage. The south transept has two lancet windows, and a central sculptured figure of St Palladius is situated above the central buttress, with an elaborate cantilevered canopy feature above it. The roof is slate covered. The church remains in use as an ecclesiastical building.
