Description
Pitbee House is an early 19th century, 2-storey and attic, 3-bay farmhouse situated in Pitcaple. The front (east) elevation has a regular arrangement of windows with original sash and case glazing. To the rear, three smaller 4-pane sash and case windows flank a central stair window with 12 panes. The farmhouse is harled with a pitched slated roof, raised ashlar skews, a masonry ridge, and ashlar end stacks. The entrance features an original letter-box fanlight, although the door has been replaced. The interior of the house was not inspected. A single-storey addition, built in the mid-19th century in a sympathetic style, extends to the south. This addition has a half-piend slated roof, and a door on the southern elevation that has been recently altered into a window.
A U-plan steading lies to the southwest, built of rubble with pinnings that were in a poor state of repair in 1992.
