Description
This is an 18th-century mill building, altered in the 19th century. It is a small, two-story structure built of rubble, with a gabled oblong shape. Originally, it featured an external undershot water wheel at the gable end, measuring 10 feet in diameter and 2 feet wide (now dismantled). The building is covered by a continuous slated roof. A circular vent is present, topped with a pig vane. Historic Environment Scotland references Hume’s Industrial Archaeology of Scotland volume VII, page 224, for further details.
