Description
Lynturk Church is a former United Presbyterian church built in 1866, designed to resemble a building from around 1836. It is a tall, rectangular structure constructed of coursed rubble stone, built in a heritors' gothic style. A bellcote (small bell tower) sits on the south gable, and each side of the building features three windows. The original windows retain their original glazing. A small session house (meeting room) is located at the north gable. The church remains in use as an ecclesiastical building. Records indicate a bell within the church dates to the 17th century. Additional historical details, including financial records and meeting minutes, provide limited information about the building’s history.
