Description
58 High Street in Stonehaven is an early 19th century, two-storey and attic terraced house, which may include some fabric from the 17th century. It was renovated in 1975 and was formerly known as the Water Yett. The building is harled with stone margins and features a base course.
On the south elevation, the central bay at ground level has a deep-set timber door with a small square window to the left. To the right, there is a broad window, and to the left, a timber door in a blocked yett with a metal plaque above it. The first floor has three windows, with the outer bays being broader. There are slate-hung canted dormers over the outer bays, flanking two later single windows in the mansard link.
The windows feature replacement timber sash and cased windows with 8-, 12-, and 16-pane glazing patterns, while the fixed timber window at the centre ground has 6-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped brick and harled stacks.
